Got some new toys today. 10 Months ago
Got my brand new $89 saddle bags today, and I have to say I'm seriously impressed. Well worth the investment. A bit too much bling for my tastes, but it was a matter of function over form for me. They were the biggest bags I could find at just about any price and they'll do nicely until I can afford the hard bags I want.. ... So just how big are they you ask? Well I'll tell yah, big enough to fit my full size guitar case! In fact, it fit so well, now I can take it with me on the road for some over-nighters. I also added an aftermarket sissy bar and luggage rack for $170 out the door. I know it looks pretty much like a stock Silverado but the previous owner removed the stock bags, windshield and sissy bar before I got it, so it's rather ironic I'm putting it back to the way it was, but with a few new twists. But as I said, for now, I'm going for functionality. After I've done some touring I'll focus more on the cosmetics.

...So without any further adieu, here she is, [sans MS batwing- which should be here next week] all dressed up and rarin' to go.

Going to load'er up with a bunch of gear, [including the guitar of course] , and head out of town tomorrow for a test run.

Cheers all.

Those are some big bags for sure. You could always remove the studs if you wanted to be tone them down a bit. They also look so big that it looks like they are sitting right on top of your rear cylinder pipe. So be careful what you put in the right hand bag because if it's heat sensitive it might not look the same when you take it out. I like em.

Big enough to put a guitar case in? How? I mean, it's not the trunk of a car. Big?, yes. But a guitar case would have to be 4' long. Right?

I want pictures of the guitar case in it.

(BTW, I think it dresses the bike up nicely. It looks "full". You don't need to go too far for cosmetic - IMHO)

Nice bags for sure, but I (for one) don't like the idea of throwing anything over my rear fender. I wonder if they have anything similar that could be adapted to out bag mounts.......our bag mounts would possibly need to be "modified" as well, but I DO like the size of them.

The bags are rigid and can be mounted without the throw-over. I may do that at some point. You can zip out the center portion that hangs over the fender so they work as both.

Here's a photo of the geetar in the bag. Did about 300 miles in the past 24 hours and it worked just fine.
