I'm not real positive about this HR, but I think you are going to have to change out the cables. I've never installed them myself, but have never seen a bike with BBs and stock cables.
Maybe someone else will chime that has a set of beach bars.

Just purchased 36" wide beach bars and was told I wouldn't have to change stock cables. From my understanding I may have to re-route some stuff but I have risers now that extend the bars almost as far with no cable mods. Haven't put my beach bars on yet.

I put Big Johnson bars on my 02, I had to change the cables because I also put on a Mikuni carb. I think the stock cables would have reached but I would have had to take them out of the cable holders under the tripple tree. The elc. wires are hidden in the handle bars and it was pretty easy to do. I'm glad I did it the are much more comfortable and they look really K.A.

I just put 39" beach bars on my 04. I had to rerout everything, the clutch cable was fine but I am ordering longer throttle cables and a longer brake line. I also had to lengthen both of my wiring harnesses. It's not hard and worth the trouble. I love the look and the feel of these bars.

ROCKSHOW, I've been looking at the 39" wide BBs for some time now. I'm looking at them with 17" pull back. What's your pull back? How do you like them? I have a bad back so I put a Utopia drivers back rest on which works great, but I'm still leaning forward with my shoulders to reach the bars, I want to lean back with no stress on my shoulders. What brand did you get?

Post edited by: thebru, at: 2005/12/28 01:57

Mine are actually "White Bros. Longhorns" they are a little wider and pull back a little farther than normal Beach bars but look the same. I ordered them from "Phat Performance Parts". They pull back 17.25".
This is my second go around with Beach Bars I had a Fat Boy with them and then switched to Ape Hangers (looked cool but not very comfortable). When I bought my Road Star I wanted somthing I could make long trips on and didn't care for the stock bars.
I love the Beach Bars they put you in a very comfortable position and you don't have to reach. I am only 5'-7" and I don't have to stretch.
I hope this helps.

just put on white bros bikini beach bars 36" wide and iso grips. they were dimpled but still had to drill a hole for the right side housing. the brake hose was a little short so i moved it out of the wire cage and now its ok. they look great. the stock bar ends were a B*TCH! the would not budge at all so a man has to do what he's got to do. SAWZALL! guess i cant sell these on ebay haha. put on my crash bars and solo rack too. passing lights are in the near future, any idea what the going rate for some are? i'll post a pic when i can. such great info here!
