That is one of my greatest fears, diesel or oil on the road and you can't do a darn thing about it. Glad you were not hurt worse and hope you heal quickly. Can't believe anyone, especially a motorcyclist passed by without helping out!!!!

So I'm out for a little leisure ride early yesterday morning. Taking a great curve on one of my favorite old country roads, just about to exit the turn and WHAM, out slips the front tire and down goes the bike. I was doing the "heads-up, look at the exit of the turn" routine and didn't see the splash of diesel fuel until it was too late. Don't know if it was the right thing to do, but I hung for dear life as me and the bike slid down the road for about 150 feet. Coupla good ole Texas boys stopped to help, picked up the bike and called 911. (They also confirmed the fuel spill, although it wasn't there when I went back yesterday afternoon.)

I wound up with a busted collarbone, fractured shoulder blade, bumps and bruises all over my shins, and some road rash on both forearms. I'm a lucky guy, I guess, it could have been a whole lot worse...

The worst part I remember was another biker doing a slow roll right by me and not stopping...very disappointing.

==================

So glad to hear you didnt get hurt any worse then you did !

But i can't belive the other guy on a bike rolled right by you after the crash not even stopping to see if you were ok and or if they could help in any way.

Was he by any chance riding a Harley or a rice rocket?

I bet a our fellow R* riders here in RSC would never do that to another motorcyclist no matter what they rode.

Glad you are o.k. for the most part. Hell, I stopped Sunday when a lady on a scooter washed out the front tire when turning on a gravel covered corner, to see if she was o.k.. And I was towing a travel trailer (with a trail blazer, Not the bike ) It's just the right thing to do.

Any advice on what you would do different? (Let's not understate the fact that you rode 150 feet on a laid down bike and survived!) Just curious if you have any learned lessons we can grow from your experience!

Heal quickly!
