I'll check back in a couple of thousand miles. Having the Metzler 880 mounted on the back rim tomorrow. The OEM Bridgestone has 9800 miles, but is down to the cord in a couple of places. The front Bridgestone looks to be about half worn. Probably replace it at around 15000 miles.

I have a set of the Metzleler 880's. They handle well. Alot better than the Dunlops that was on it. I have close to 4000 miles and they still look new.

Believe it or not I've been known to misunderstand things so just to be sure - Are you talking about the road being slick or the tire?

The Metz's are great in the rain until the tire is slick (worn out - no more tread - what mine now looks like )

Runnin the me880 on the back, verry nice compared to the Avon I took off. Got about 4k on it, hiway and 2lane (I'm in NC so like the 2lane). The front Avon is being replaced soon. Low miles, bad cupping, rough ride. Will definately go with a me880. PT

Are all Metzelers made in Brazil now? Or can you still get 'em out of other places?
Which plant is the best to get tires from, or does it matter anymore?

I purchased my ME880 set from Dennis Kirk and took advantage of their "meet the lowest price found minus 1 dollar guarantee".

I had them put a note on the order to call me and let me know if the tires were made in Brazil or Germany. They called me the next day and told me that the tires were shipped to them from Brazil. I explained why I wanted to know and they told me that they could find no recalls/bulletins concerning these tires.

I have about 3K miles on them and I am very pleased. Much better handling on grooved pavement and in the turns as compared to the Bridgestones. I wish that I would have had them on my bike when I rode the Dragon at the beginning of Summer!

I have a set of the 880's from Brazil and they have a little over 5000 miles on them and appear to be about half worn on the rear the front is fine. I am an aggressive rider and only got 8000+ out of the oem slipstones. I alo have a used 880 rear I bought off e-bay for $45 that has 5000 miles on it from Germany and it looks almost new. I have heard that the ones from Germany wear better. I also bought a set of wheels and tires on e-bay and the wheels have a set of Michelin Commander tires that have 5000 miles on them. They look brand new and have no chicken strips on them. Guess I won't have to buy tires for a long time. I will let you know what I get the best wear and performance from.

I doubt it. The compound is probably the same.

I have the German 880 on the back and it's needs to be replaced .... around 10 k on it.
