Re:Metcruze Custom Seats 4 Years, 8 Months ago
I want a seat that lowers me into the bike but does not move me forward

My Opinion: Any seat that lowers you down will move you forward. Take a look at the stock seat "seating area" and mark that area in relationship to a point on the frame. Remove the seat and you will see that because you are sitting higher, you are actually back on the seat horn "The point where the rear fender mounts". Any seat that lowers you down is going to move you forward slightly because the seat horn slants foward. I have had most all of the aftermarket seats and all of them moved me forward slightly. Other opinions vary, but compare the sitting area on different seats in relationship to the frame and I think you will see what I am saying.

Bet shipping from down under will be a killer. Like everyone said you go down you go forward. I have medium risers and the Ultimate seat set and love it. Yes I am forward a little but it is a comfortable forward as the angle is better and my butt loves it. Tom your going to love your Ultimate seats. Wife loves hers too.

It'll prob'ly be another six hours or so before UPS delivers the seats. I feel like a kid at Christmas, Curt!

That's one beautiful ride, Curt. Someday I'll get more "bling" for mine too.

I have the Ultimate solo seat, with a backrest that bolts to the rear fender supports. It does move you forward just a tad, but you also seem to sit down in the seat rather than on the seat, like they say.
This seat/backrest arrangement, and with the floorboards and controls moved forward 3" and turned up 15 degrees makes a very comfortable ride.
The floorboards are moved forward with plates I made from plans on either this forum or the Roadstar Riders forum. Very easy and look good.

I'm 6'2" with a 32" inseam, so I'm not sure how it's going to feel yet. My Ultimate seats just came an hour ago! Won't have time until Saturday or so to put 'em on and try 'em out, but at least they're here.

Just getting my feet wet with custom seating, My wife is complaining about longer rides with the stock rear seat. Her butt goes to sleep after an hour or so and I hear about it.
I was told today to look at Mustang seats..........anybody have any input on this?

I have a stock 2006 ( brand new left over stock) Roadie, 2 weeks old, Love it!
