I understand what you mean Jona. I just wish everyone would go by "The Code". Weather you ride a Bike or not.

Hey, if you're in it for yourself, ride on! Ride on!

Me, I'm still thinkin' I'm somewhat part of a community. You don't need to be part of it, though.

Don't worry, I'll still stop if you're broken down on the side. Can't promise I'll be of much help, but I will stop.

You're illustrating Jona's point precisely. Who cares, hurray for me and to hell with everybody else? The army of one? Me, myself, and I?
Is this YOUR code sir?

You reap what you sow. I have seen old folks abandoned by their children. I stop and help people every chance I get. When I see a solo biker stopped on the road I slow down and see if they need help. But in a way a lot of people have killed the code. You never really know who's on the side of the road. What are they up to? Did they just crash? Who knows what? Criminals lurk by the roadside wait to hijack a vehicle, rob you of cash or take a hostage.

Jona, I definitely hear ya. As a trucker, I remember when drivers actually gave a sh@% about each other out there too. It's the current generation, they don't get it. I've spent whole nights wrenching on a truck of someone I didn't know 3 hours ago. It's the way I learned it's supposed to be. I always thought as riders we did the same. I'd lend a hand to any one of you, and as far as I'm concerned, I expect and want nothing for it. I suspect many of you feel the same. Guess this is what it feels like to be on the tail end of a generation. Teach the young, they are the future of what we love. Ride safe

I agree with you 100% BD.
Some people just will never get it.
I'll stop for anyone that is pulled over and offer my help.
I think we may be a ding breed and that makes me sad.

Oh, and I used to think if we all rode a bike we could just get along, I don't know with some of these comments over a CODE that should be followed and then some, but not just bikers, everyone. And we are getting too PC on here with labels, biker, rider, enthusiast, then stuff about club, groups. My goodness, waving to each other just pisses cagers off too, seriously waving. It seems wrong, at least in NY, that one can't say hello unless they know the person already anymore, and even then its questionable if you get a good morning or hi back. I know some "bikers" are too cool to wave and don't stop because they actually have to go to work or simply don't care, but really, can't we all just get along.
