I'm fairly certain that it would take off the hardcoat or not. Either a car wax safe for clear coat or the spray on bike cleaner wax. I use it on my windshield with a microfiber rag. I have been using it on my glasses for the last 2 1/2 years and don't hav a scratch one on them.
