I can't tell you if its safe or not, but the stock windshields have a coating on them. Some aftermarket ones do not.

This product contains kerosene, so it's not something that I'd put on a good windshield. I'm fairly certain that it would take off the hardcoat or not. Sounds like the one you have may be shot already.

I'm not sure just how true this is but a guy I know says when his face sheild or sun glasses get scratched up he puts clear nail polish on the scratches and they disapear. Has anyone here tried that ?

After reading here that window cleaners like Windex with ammonia can cause mini cracks - I think someone called it "crazing" - I've been using polish. Either a car wax safe for clear coat or the spray on bike cleaner wax. It works great and you don't have to worry where the overspray goes.

Pledge works good on your bike windshield, also smells good The lemon pledge is what I use, makes the bugs come off easier. Can also be used on the paint to clean light film off.

If your windshield is really scratched up, get yourself a 3M headlight restoration kit and go to town. Cheaper than a new windshield.

I use some stuff called "Bug Slide" I get it from my dealer. I think some guy around here makes it. I use it on my windshield with a microfiber rag. I have been using it on my glasses for the last 2 1/2 years and don't hav a scratch one on them. (My glasses usually last about a year, these are going on three)
