Ride Like A Pro course 9 Months ago
Has anyone ever taken one of the Ride Like A Pro courses? If so, what did you think of it? I'm interested in taking a class a learn to ride like the Police Motor Unit guys who do the MC Rodeos. I love watching those guys! They have the courses all over and according to their website they are taught by current or former Motor Unit Officers, but the class is only 4hrs so I'm curious as to how much you can learn in a 4hr class.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any info.

I have the video and it's pretty amazing. BUT what they don't tell you is that while taking the motor officers course that they drop thier bikes up to 10-12 times a day before they get good at it! I would suggest borrowing someone else's scooter while taking the course! Maybe Darn will loan you his!!! or Jona!!!

I took the Advanced Rider Motorcycle Course to lower my insurance it is about the same as what you are talking about. You can learn a LOT in 4 hours and find out a lot of things you are doing wrong and I have been riding 50 years. The main thing is after you take it practice what they taught you over and over until it becomes habit.

I have done the video also. I would think they can teach you a lot in 4 hours. After that it will be up to you to practice what you learn. Mark I believe has taken the course. You might send him a note. Be prepared to drop your bike...lol.

I bought the video, and like Curt, I learned some things that I was doing wrong; that was to me, the most informative and helpful thing. I did learn a lot from the course video, and like others have mentioned - practice, practice and practice some more. Yes, I have dropped the Roadie and my Goldwing, but no big deal - doesn't hurt them at all. Crash bar on Roadie and the Goldwing is very drop forgiving with built in crash bars.

I have the video as well. One of the most helpful things I learned was using the "friction zone" at low speeds. It is amazing what you can do feathering the clutch and rear brake!

Have the video too. One thing I did that made a big difference is to not place the cones so close together at first. Start with what feels comfortable and gradually more them closer together. I had no problem with dropping the bike doing it this way. I learned a lot and fixeds some bad habits.

A local guy got the vid and set up a course by his home. He said he learned a bunch, but smoked his clutch in 2 days of practice.
