Gas filler neck mods 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I've tried to look up mods to stop fuel from spitting out when I fill my gas tank up all the way. I've been looking for over an hour and no luck. Can someone please help and give me advice on what to do or show me what thread to look it up under? I appreciate all the help that this site offers. I have done many mods that I wouldn't even begin to try if I didn't have everyone's input to help figure out what to do on my bike. This is by far the best site ever.

Thank you for the help so quick. I would love to get the extra mileage from getting more fuel in it, but im afraid from starving my HSR 42 from the air it needs to run also. I read where if i fill it up to far it will cause problems with that carb running correct. I would appreciate every ones input if they have any ideas.

Did you remove the fuel pump? If so you can vent your cap. . . .I'm just saying.

don't fill it up all the way up the neck of the tank. That's the simplest and easiest solution. You're only talking a few ounces all of 3 to 5 miles to the tank. Tell me, how many times have you ran out of gas, how many times did it take 5 gals?

128oz/40mpg = 3.2oz per mile
128oz/45mpg = 2.8oz per mile

so as you can see that extra 10, 12 oz of gas doesn't get you that far further down the road.

And if you're not getting 40mpg with the 42, then it is not set-up right.
