lightbars on 05 4 Years, 8 Months ago
Hey fellas,
I am looking at the lightbar that came off of that RS on ebay that this guy is parting out for 99.00 I have a plain 2005 RS. When I bought it they installed the Silverado windshield. Now if I buy this lightbar will it be a pain in the butt to install, or do you think it might hook up fairly easy? Thanks for the time,
JM

I've got the winshield and lightbar. I don't see where one would interfere / interact with the other.

Would the wiring be a pain, or is the bike kind of already setup for the lightbar. You know, do all the bikes come setup from the factory, and then some get the Silverado package and some not?

I'm not poitive of this but look inside the headlight bucket. There might be a plug in there for the light bar. Otherwise someone who is good at wiring ( That ain't me ) will hop in and give you the how to.

The best of both worlds, Black&White or White&Black
Good looking Roadie there jetmechanic. That light bar will set it off
nicely.

IS it the complete light bar with passing lamps and signal lights already mounted??

open yer headlight

then you remove yer existing signal light bar and unplug wires to the signal lights

the new one attaches back with same bolts that held the bar and windshield mount and a small one that attaches the headlight bucket then hook back up color coded wires and plugs

If yer bike was not a Silverado then you wont have a white passing lamp connector but look fer one first

if the light bar has the female half... snip it off....should have a red and black wire left
Good idea at this point to get an inline fuse holder and fuse...
(cause the Silverado doesnt use one...)and attach to the red wire
then you will splice into the blue wire feeding the three way receptacle to yer sig lights... with the red wire from the passing lamps and then splice to the black ground wire feeding the signal light 3-way connector the black ground wire feeding the passing lamps...

piece of cake..

I installed my light bar myself. Was not too bad about 2 hours work. The hardest part was getting the lights level! By the way, love the color of your bike
