I'm 6-1 and have 16's. They are just above my shoulders, you may be happier with 18's but they might cost a bit more due to 16's being fairly common.

Hey man, I'm 6'-5" and I would recommend the 16".
Others may disagree, but I find that if your hands are above your shoulders for a while, your fingers get tingly or numb.

I also suggest to be sure you are able to have 'some' bend in your elbows without leaning forward. Makes it easier to 'maneuver' when you need to.

If I could have gotten the ones I have in 18", I would have. I had to settle for raising them with risers.

Go Ape, you'll love it.

You might not have much of a choice. According to Texas Dept of Public Safety reject inspection ifj. On motorcycles and motor-driven cycles, handlebar grips extend to a height in excess of 15 inches above the saddle level.

But if you can get away with it I'd go with 16" with stock risers, or risers/bars that total 16". I'm 6-2 and they put my hands just at shoulder level. Very comfortable for me.

I went with 16" Barons Kong bars and really like them. They are 1.25" in diameter so it is easy to run your wires internally to clean up the look. Then you will need +10 cables and upper brake line.

Personally I would go with the 18". I would check on ebay. I bought mine in previously loved, not used, condition. They are about chin height for me. I am 5'11". I love mine. The only thing I would do different if I could is to have them installed before leaving the stealership with me. It may take a little while to get used to but once you do you are going to appreciate all the time and effort that you put into installing them. Bars, cable, 18 ga wires, shrink wrap around $200 for me. Cable bought through a member here named TimB. He will hook you up on the cables and anything else that you need.

I'm running 16" Kong Bars w/ stock risers on my bike. I'm 6'4, but I have a Corbin seat (not shown in sig pic), that drops me down a bit so the grips are slightly above my shoulder. I've done 300 miles with them & no issues with my hands going numb.
