Yep,your parts are in the tank. A magnet will get them out and you can put it back together. Happy fishing

This will show you all the parts.

Okay, so I am a new first time Roadstar owner and for the most part a late bloomer to Motorcycles. So, what you all are saying is having a few screws loose and riding a Roadstar is a common thing?

Jona,no disrespect intended at all but your mistaken on the fuel cap comming appart issue.

Iv'e been a member here in RSC for over 2yrs and have seen quite a few fellow RSC members posting here in RSC over that past 2+yrs that their fuel caps fell appart due to the small philips head screws comming loose that hold it together,not just 1 , 2,3 people.

And i dont think anyone else or myself was trying to start a false epidemic here at all,i was just stating the facts i have seen 1st hand posted in RSC by our fellow RSC members that have had 1st hand experience's with thier fuel caps falling appart due to vibration making the screws fall out which is a real issue with some of these bikes, but not all R*'s.

Same goes for all the other issues with our R*'s that i reffered in my prior post in this thread that plenty of other RSC memebrs have also had issues with over the yrs too.

I really like and respect my R* for what it is esp for all you get for the money vs Harley but the truth is the r* has some issues with in some cases inferior parts that fail way too early along with issues due to weak poorly designed parts too which unfortunately is the truth.

I took a good hard look at my gas cap. shook it around and though it on the ground. I'm happy to say it's ok. I must say that I might live in Egypt next to that river called denial and that's just fine with me.

Great!! now I will think about my gas cap all day until I get home and pull it off an check it!
=====================
Or just before ya start out to go home take 5 mins to pull the phlips head screwdriver out of the R* stock toolkit , remove fuel cap , then check tightness of the little pilips head screws on the underside of fuel cap.

Scott

And that is exactly what I just did. I backed out the screws and then retightened them.

Can't say enough about the great info I get on this site! I am thankful that it is here and that there are so many shared responses! I've been to other sites in the past and questions sit for days without responses (even though there are numerous views).

It really is the loose nut behind the handlebars that scares me on my bike.
