Post-Accident Update 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Going into 3rd week since accident, and wanted to update you all. 9/18 was struck by a car taking a left-hand turn at an intersection as I was going straight. Despite the accident report which clearly states fault, the three witnesses whom concur, and even the other driver whom admitted on tape to my insurance adjuster fault, the other insurance company has not accepted liability as yet. Arizona has a ridiculous rule that their officers only arrive at accidents if there is personal injury. They take statements and devise a report, but do not cite. So here I am trying to work in pain while wearing a stabilizing boot, and preparing for foot surgery, roadrash over both arms and nose, as well as seeing chiropractor 3 times a week for lower left back pain. Working would not be so bad if I had an office job, but I'm am HVACR service tech, and the ladders are killing me. I'm going thru my own insurance to recover property damages as I want that resolved now. The shop has documented the damages to the motorcycle to be about 2 times the value of the bike. My lawyer is handling everything, and I've instructed them I either need my bike repaired EXACTLY as it was, or the value to replace it exactly. I'd even settle for bluebook plus the bike instead of all the accessories.
As for now, I hobble into work on the days I can endure it with the assistance of painkillers because I need to. People keep telling me I'm LUCKY, however I would not wish this BS on anyone. I'm still leaning very much to another R* like mine or a R* Warrior. The 3 things I enjoy most in life are riding motorcycles, working-on/ modifying motorcycles, and exercising-none of which I'm able to do right now which is killing me. I have learned I have some terrific friends and family, and I've learned the audacity of others looking for favors and to borrow things while I'm in this state. Sorry to vent, but I feel individuals like yourselves/like myself might understand my pain. My R* was very special!

Sorry to hear this as well. I know we have some silly insurance laws here for sure. I'm not sure who came up with the NO Fault policy but it sounds more and more like the insurance lobby. It really doesn't seem to benefit anyone but them. Here's to hoping it all works out for the better in the end for you. I hope you have a good legal team working for you. Lawyer's suck until you need one.

Insurance companies delay, deny, and defend.... just to make you wait. Make sure the lawyer goes after all they can... because the amount of time it takes to collect....
Prayers for ya bud.

Get some lost wages while yur at it. My bike was down for mech. problems for a couple of weeks and I thought I had bad withdrawls. I hope you, first of all completely recover quickly and are compensated well for your misfortune. Take care.
