I had a problem similar and found a wire was bad trimmed it and all was good. I also changed the plugs. Be careful checking spark plug wires. By the way I was really lucky that was it. It was just the process you develop working on engines.

UPDATE:
I picked up my bike from the dealership last night. They said they test rode it and all was fine. I pressed them on the issue with the rear cylinder exhaust pulse being much weaker than the front. They said it was normal...all Roadstars fire weaker on the rear clinder - no problem found.

Frankly, I just don't get it. Since it seems to be riding decent, I'm going to just put it out of my mind until Spring when I put in an air kit and a ported manifold (I heard on the other site that porting the manifold helps this problem). Then I will re-jet at that time.

UPDATE ON TIRES: I only had the dealership install 2 new Metzler ME 880 WWW. Wow, what a difference from stock. I always told people my Road Star only likes to go straight. The new Mezlers make it a completely different bike. My first turn out of the dealership I leaned into the turn and the bike felt like it would go right over on its side, so I had to give it more gas.*

*The biggest difference when going to Metzlers from stock is how it corners and turns. The tread pattern and "roundness" of these new tires help it to lean more and turn more easily than the stock tires. When I made turns in the stock tires the bike almost felt like it wanted to straighten back up again and keep pushing straight. I'm sure I'll get used to the new tires in no time and then I'll be enjoying the handling characteristics of my Road Star more than ever!

Diffinantly rejet if you go BAK and pipes and you will notice and big difference. I did not notice much when I ported my manifold Second get a Dyna 3000 that will be a kick in the seat! Havn't heard "They said it was normal...all Roadstars fire weaker on the rear cylinder"

I put MME 880 on WWW my V Star and really noticed a big difference When the time comes I will be putting them on my Roadie!

Porting the manifold will help get the most out of the air kit and jetting. It might help with the rear cyl.
