Hoppes Quadzilla Fairing/sound system for Roadies 4 Years, 8 Months ago
Has anyone, in here, purchased the Hoppes Quadzilla Fareing/Soundsystem. If so I would appreciate the feedback as thats pretty much what I have decided to purchase after some more research.

Welcome Steven. I saw one on a roadstar at americade in june and it looked
really nice. That fellow was happy with his. It's a little out of my price
range right now but I'm sure someone on here has one and will jump in sooner or later.

Hey Steven Nice name hard to remember though Welcome to the forum.

One of the guys in my star chapter has one and he loves it. I thought it was well made and the stereo sounds really good. I have it on my wish list

I have one on my 06. They are of excellent quality and the sound system can be heard at any speed. I have listen to it at 100 mph before. The CD playre will skip but the radio is great. I also have my XM radio hooked up on it.

I have had dealing with Hoppes and I did my own Harley Fairing. He is a very good person and was helpful. I wanted the gages and close front around the headlight. If you want a second choice or another option try motorcycle enhancement. They are out of Canada but very helpful. I can tell you this if you don't get an alpine stereo your cd will skip. Alpine has a patent look on a gyroscope system. I have a pioneer long story. Both places use to have the shell and you could do the radio and such. You won't save to much money that way, if you get a sealed circuit radio and good weather resistance speakers plus and antenna. Both are fiberglass and have seen both in person quality work. Sorry if the above is confusing but it's in there!lol

Steven:

I just mounted my Hoppe fairing ten days ago.

I've only been out on the road with it once. A 120 mile trip right after I put it on. Plus, I've been commuting with it last week and this week.

So far, no complaints. I think it does noticeably change the handling characteristics of the bike, though. That's a lot more weight out there on those handlebars than before. Mostly, is more noticeable at low speeds when making tight turns in a parking lot or such. This is the first fairing I've ever owned, though, so I wasn't accustomed to that. It's nothing that can't be gotten used to though. I've put a trunk and hard bags on, too. So that also makes a difference.

I have a longer trip planned this weekend to go up north and see the fall colors. So I'll have a better feel for things next week.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Steven

I too own a hoppe fairing. I have had mine for about 2 1/2 months now. I like it and dveara is right when you first put it on the feel will be different but that goes away the more you ride it. It's like when you put a new set of tires on, the bike will handle differently. I will say this I'm not happy with the stereo system as far as the CD portion goes. It will skip and not play most of the time. I was told it was due to the charging system of the roadstar. I don't believe that but I have no way of proving it. I was told to buy a new high output stator and that would cure the problem. Has anyone done this as recommended by Hoppe Industries?????? Other then that the stereo plays fine on radio & I can play my ipod through it. So I guess you can say I love my fairing.

Thank you to those that have provided the info. The photos of your bikes with the Fairing was most helpful. I do appreciate it. By the way I emails hoppe and they are to be at the Fall Ralley at Myrtle Beach next week at "Broadway at the Beach". thanks again smitty

Hardone2get, check at a local car stereo shop, they usually have cells for amps that keep the power at a constant level, if that is the problem (power).
But a CD skipping on a bike like ours seems to be more likely,
