Not having a Good 2 weeks bike back at the shop 7 Months, 1 Week ago  
OK i had my clutch plates replaced glazed over slipping and while i was at it had my shop install barnett spring coversaion kit picked my roadie a 2003 silver edition up last sat and as the weather was bad rode striaght home. NO time to ride this week so i had planed on riding today, tried to start it it turned over 2 times and would not start so i tried again ,NOW not turning over just a ZZZZZZZING sound checked the bat incase low but its good so i waited 15mins tried again and ZZZZZZZZZING CAA and back to the shop SHIT
ANY Thoughts ? linkage to starter ? waiting for the CALL

could be starter spin? There's a tech article about the fix in the tech article section.

Sounds like the starter clutch idle gear which has nothing to do with the clutch.

I was a victim of starter spin. That is what it sounded like,ZZZZZZZZZing. A problem with 2003 and earlier models. I followed the instructions in the tech article and got it fixed. Not too dificult. Good instuctions.

Just got the call from the shop YES The Bolt holding the generator rotor came loose like a few of you guys said EASY fix so the SHOP said
THX FOR THE REPLYS AS WHEN I TALKED TO THE SHOP AFTER READING THE TECH SECTION ON STARTER SPIN I WAS VERY WELL INFORMED AND KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT .
