Ultimate seat for big guys 4 Years, 8 Months ago
|
|
I realize that the seat subject is one of those things that never go away.
But, here's my questions for the big guys out there:
I'm 6' and about 230lbs, does anyone out there who is comparable in stature have the ultimate seat and if you do, how do you find it?
And if you've had other after market seats how does the Ulimate compare?
This seat thing is driving me crazy!!
thanks for your imput

I'm 6'2" and around 270, give or take, and I like my Ultimate fine, bushr. I haven't had a chance to take it out for a real long run yet, but my keester's still happy after an hour or so. And if you have back problems, the backrest is a must. Hope this helps.

I am 6'1 250 Lbs. At first it felt like the seat pushed me forward onto the tank, but the more I rode the better it felt. Very comfortable. Have about 3-4,000 miles on it. My longest day on it was about 450 miles.

Same here...6' @ 250 lbs. Got the Ultimae this spring with backrest and the pillion pad....gotta keep the wife happy. I too felt a bit forward and a month ago ordered the offset backrest bar/support for the backrest and it makes quite a bit of difference. I've got a tailbone problem and thats why i switched and they help a lot. I'd recommend them with the offset backrest at the start but if you get the origional its only @ 35 bucks.
enjoy

I went to the Ultimate seats website after reading about the offset backrest support you ordered and could find no info on it.I am 6'5" tall and 340lbs.I love the Ultimate seat I have had for a couple of months but feel pushed a little foward and at my size need all the room I can get.So did it help put you back further in the seat? How far does it put the driver backrest back then the stock support bracket.

6' 1" 295# with no butt . Maybe a gel pad and a backrest. Given my history of back problems (insert beer gut jokes here) I ain't got much to get numb anymore.

I'm 6' and 240 lbs. Love my ultimate seat. Did feel a bit pushed forward at first, but soon got used to it, and I also moved the floorboards/controls forward 3". The two together are the best money I've spent on the roadie. Might also not I have a pretty short inseam of 29".

165 lbs I haven't seen 165 in 20 years.... I got neutered at 29. I weighed 185 at 29. At almost 45 I struggle to stay under 250..
I have the Ultimate passenger seat with the driver backrest and its purrrrfect.

edgeman,
you're right, I couldn't find the seat either, but someone mentioned it on the site and i just called up ultimate and asked about it....they already had my info, so i didn't even need to give them a card number again. they had it on its way in a jiff....besides, des or whoever answers the phone makes it worth the call even if you don't buy anything....she has a really sweet voice. the origional bracket is just an "L" inserted into the pillion seat and the offset is bent again, giving it a bit more adjustment. It works for me and for 35 bucks or so, not an expensive mod to try and see if it helps. I still hurt, but it just takes longer to happen with the ultimate and the offset backrest gives me an opportunity to adjust a bit more as well as lean back but still have the support or adjust it back even further and its there when i want it vs. all the time.
hope it helps
