Engine Dieing, and bogging down? 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Just went on a 200 mile trip last weekend on my bike. Its an 07 *Silverado. Part of the trip the speed limit was 70 and we ran 80 for about 20 minutes. After that we stopped to eat. After we came back out the bike did something it never had, a couple of times backing out it died. After a couple minutes it didnt do it anymore so I put it out of my head. Well a little further down the road we stopped for a break. When we left there as I shifted to 3rd I let off the throttle while shifting then I opened it back up. It bogged down and acted like it didnt want to take gas. A buddy behind me said he smelled raw fuel real strong. This bike has no mods, factory exhaust, its completely stock with only 2650 miles on it. I changed oil at 1000 as recommended in the manual and I also changed the transfer case oil as recommended both with Yamalube. The bike doesnt seem to be doing anything wrong now so I'm wondering if it was just bad gas. It sure still has that rattle in the top of the engine lol. Thats a whole other question though. Its a rattle at a certain rpm. seems to be in the top range of each gear and only for a second. Its done it since it was new so I learned to deal with it. Anyone have any ideas or am I just worrying for nothing?
