Hey liquid edge. I know some are going to say Oh no not him again but I had the same problem with my 06. The bike looks just like yours! Take it back to the dealer and make them give you documentation when they give it back to you!! They are going to tell you there is nothing wrong with it but from what I have experienced it's SVS sticky valve syndrome. Make sure on the paperwork the dates are correct and the mileage and your complaints. (backfire, running issues, etc) I unlike others don't think you should have to add additive to the bike to make it run. This is an 07 for God's sake! Then I would go to the nhtsa national highway traffic safety administration web site and fill out a complaint! (check out all the others while your there.) This is going to be a defining moment as to what kind of dealer you have. I would like to know what kind of treatment you recieve. Please don't get screwed this is only going to get worse! OH by the way mine is 100% stock to. Do a search on this site for svs or sticky valves!

Law, I didn't understand his symptoms as anything like SVS or the problems you have been having. As I stated, my bike has acted up like that a couple of times, and after 10,000 miles I have never had SVS.

I use gas additives regularly, not because of a yamaha defect, but rather due to the irregular quality of fuel bought on the road.

hey dryriver I don't mean to step on any toes, and please don't take this the wrong way, but how can you say those are not the symptoms when you never had svs? The bike acts different as the condition gets worse. Started out bogging down to the point of cutting off.(about 2000 miles) Next time it was popping and bogging down. (about 2500)finnaly the last time it sounded like world war 3. Backfire like a double barrel shot gun.(about 3200miles) each time I was several miles from home. If I would add ring free to my tank I would probably never get it again but I refuse to have to do this to a new bike. If it were a 75 harley or triumph I would expect to give it meds every now and then. Once again my utmost respect to you but this is how I see it.

sure, law, I just have never understood that SVS was a condition that comes and goes. I thought a stuck valve was a stuck valve, but maybe I misunderstood all the discussion about SVS. Does it actually do that?
Oh yeah, I never take offense at anything posted here.
