Its the bearings.they will probably be ok just loosened up.
Jack the front wheel off the ground, if the steering flops to the side real easy then they need tightening up,(Easy to do) so the steering will move easly but not flop,Thats all you need do and it takes that uneasy pothole hitting feeling out of the steering.

Everyone here has given great answers except the one from you ....tuffing it out....some of the checks are quick , easy and free....your life isn't my friend....no more bikers down because we can't wait ... not critizing been there and done that....I walk a little different now ...a hard lesson to learn. Bearing can wear quicker without turning cause turning is what they are designed to do not taking pressure on unequal sides versepread out on the race.
Hope you find it soon the easier way
