Question for those who have lowered their R* 6 Months, 1 Week ago

I'm curious how lowering your bike effects riding position and seat comfort while riding, if at all.
My Roadie is a 99, but I have the updated 05 stock seat because it allows me to sit further back *over* the frame horns, since my previous seat, which was considerably lower, created severe pressure problems with my tailbone, due to the frame horns.
I'm a big guy so I also have the rear shock preload cranked all the way up, and as a result, between that and the 05 stock seat, I feel like I'm sitting "on top" of the bike, rather than down in it.
I'd prefer to be seated down in the bike but without tailbone pressure issues, and was hoping that lowering the bike might accomplish that and maybe even take some weight off my tailbone.
In addition to that, I was wondering about going with a 1000 lbs. rear spring, which If I understand correctly, would allow me to reduce the amount of preload and soften up the rear more as well as maybe even lower the bike a little more too. Is my thinking correct?
What is your experience been?

I too am a big guy 300lbs and went with a progressive rear spring. The ride is excellent and doesn't feel as springy as the stock spring felt cranked all the way up. I am running the progressive spring at the softest preload and it feels excellent (unless I am riding two up and have to adjust it some just to get the clearance back). It lowered my bike about an inch in the rear (looks awesome but have to get used to not turning as sharp because my pipe scrapes). I will be looking at progressive front lowering springs as I now have a 21" front wheel and it raised it up some.

I have the adjustable bones on mine and 4 inche fork extensions up front. coupled with MotoGirls custom seat that firmly places you in the bike, not on it ( it's only a solo) ihave both a great ride AND a great look!!!

hello,,, i have lowered mine by flipping the bone. i have found that i need to watch my lean, from time to time i will scrap my floorboards, but that is usaully my own fault for taking the curve a-lil to fast. i really enjoy my ride now that it has been lowered (2" a little more then the stock hight. i did the flip more for the reason it doesn't cost a penny and i can always flip it back if i need to . i am running the original spring. hope this helps
