Nothing was wrong....I was just busy all summer long. Never got to go on any poker runs due the dreaded work. all is well, bike is running good. I had my bike dynoed finally this summer. It wasn't putting out anywhere it should be....68hp and 97 ft/lbs torque. The tech told me that I was running pretty rich and according to the chart, and the way he was explaining the chart to me, he was definately right. My plugs were visual proof as well and I knew that but I was too stubborn to lean out the carb cuz of the way everybody was saying that at my altitude I should be running a 170 main and around 3-3 1/2 pms. The tech told me that I should drop down to about a 150 main and adjust the carb accordingly. Since I didn't have a 150, I had my stock 165 which I put in. The bike seems to run better, and I adjust the pms to about 3 1/4. I checked the plugs last night for curiosity sake....the rear was light gray and the front was black with a little soot. I still have that puff of grayish smoke from the front cylinder on hard decel, but no popping or backfiring. I talked to a guy who has built a few high compression roadstars about this puff of smoke problem and he said that I probably have alot of carbon build up in the head and probably sticking rings. So I'm hoping that we will have one more real nice day so I can run some Ring free thru the system and hopefull cure the problem. Other than that guys, things are well and the shiny side is still up. Good to hear from you guys again. Sorry if this turned out to be a novel.
