pick up an old windjammer, lots of storage, stereo, frame mounted, and ugly as sin, lol. joking aside you have all the options out there, depending on your skills or your funds the choice is now yours. anything can be made to work if you have the time or money, mort

Re:Fairing options 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I transferred my MS over from my Vstar, I've been thinking of getting a Reckless. The thing that holds me back is that the MS has the right slant to it and because it is hollow you can bring it in close. I'm concerned that with a Reckless the inner will hold the fairing further away from the forks.

With the MS and lowers I don't have any wind until I pass 60-65 MPH.
I made my own mounts out of stainless steel flat bar and its rock solid.
It bolts to the original windshield mount.

There is a Roadie club that meets here once a month and I'm going to try to find someone with a Reckless mounted and compare it with my bike.

I mounted an MP3 player for music and that seem to work better than a radio /cd player.

I would like to see one with a HD fairing mounted also. Good luck in selecting the right fairing for you.

They are below the handle bars facing upward. I didn't put a lot of thought into placement of the player, but I wanted the speakers to reflect the sound off the fairing and back toward me.

Does anyone run stock lowers with a batwing fairing? If so how did you make the mounts work?

I am in the middle of mounting my fairing but don't see how I can keep my factory lowers without some mods. If anyone has done it I would appreciate getting pointed in the right direction.

And I also have a nice unblemished Silverado windshield for sale if anyone is interested.
