I have old riding buddies who snicker at me for dropping down to the Roadstar. I have injuries that stopped me from riding the bigger heavier machines. I have rode Gold wings and Ventute Royals for Years. If you can't ride a Roadstar, which to me is like riding a mini bike, you are ready for the three wheels, or as Kai says the drop down training wheels... I don't ridicule anyone for what they ride! They may like it, or have an impairment that is not visible.

I ride to ride. Not much of a fashion or style type person. I really don't care what others preference are at all. As you said, I'd give the token wave to anyone - 4, 3, or 2 wheels.
The mods I make are for me. No one else really. They keep me occupied and make ME feel good and involved with my bike when the kickstand is down. I like looking at other peoples work for inspiration and amazement. Too many other things in life that are more worthy of concern. What someone wants to ride is definately not on that list!
Ride safely!

My personal opinion is simple, I don't look at them as MOTORCYCLES. I look at them as Spyders. Everyone has their own reasons for having one but it definetly is not for me. I'd go trike before I got to the Spyder.

A big +1 on that Warden. By the time I get through wrenching on my bike it might look like a Can-Am. Every time I think I am done, I think of something else. The darn bike just won't turn me loose!
I never had the desire to wrench on my Honda Areo like that , nor the two vstar 1100's. What gives with this particular bike to make a man want to wrench on it so much anyhow?
I haven't figured that out yet.

I ride a R* cause it's the best bike I can afford. Everyone I ride with rides a Harley. When the subject of choice of rides comes up it reminds me of Kenny. Way back in the seventies when I could afford a Harley and rode with a club, Kenny who had just came back from nam, came riding up on a 400 Kawi. The guys gave him a bunch of crap and Kenny just looked at them and said I fought for this country so I have a right to ride whatever the %#$^ I want. Ended that conversation. If it was a crotch rocket, a cruiser, or a trike on the side of the road, If you would only stop to help the cruiser maybe you have the problem and not them.

River,
I am just like you, man! I've owned a lot of other bikes, and usually just hopped on them and went... but, these R*s?!?! I can't ever stopping wrenching on them. I'm always wanting to change this, or to add that. It never ends! I don't even dare look into all the receipts for everything I've acquired to add or change on my R*s!!! But, it's been a hoot!
And, I'm not even the least bit interested in riding anything having more than 2 wheels. Heck, I can't even bring myself to through a leg over anything liquid-colled yet!

You know you can get airplane wheels on a Goldwing? The kind that when you go below a certain speed the training wheels come down just like a plane. When I get to old to ride on two wheels or for some reason unable to ride on two wheels, I think I'll have that installed on my goldwing ( by then I should have one !!!
Funny you mention that Kai, I have a neighbor (71yrs young) who had a Wing with training wheels. He hit a patch of gravel and the training wheels didn't go down fast enough..anyway the wing was busted up pretty good so he got a can-am. I took it for a spin and it is quite a fun ride........ handles the twisties here in Tn really nice...

I have a friend that rides either his 74 Norton or an old BMW with only a left arm as he lost the right arm way back in his teens. Yep, throttle, clutch, brake and switches all with his left hand. While sitting at an outdoor table at a biker gathering place, someone came in on a trike and Bob says "I'd consider a trike if I was handicapped". We all just looked at him in amazement
