My first front end wheely 5 Months, 1 Week ago
Last week I got the new LA Choppers apes. Same hight but grip about 4" closer. While I was waiting for them, I had the clutch perch and the front brake master cylinder polished to an unbelievable shine. Bought new grip and when all was in hand I reinstalled everything In doing so, I noticed thay had put the plunger back together wrong. So I drove the adjustment screw in all the way to have a little front brake while I waited for my rebuild kit to arrive. Still the front brakes were worthless. Once I put in the new plunger kit, I had great brake action. So it came time to take the bike on a quick 20 mile ride. All was going very well until I stopped at a light. When it went green, I gunned it and it seemed like I had little to no power. At about 30. Mph I made my way from the far left lane to the bike lane to check things out. As I pulled in the cluth to stop my back end lifted completely off the ground and I thought I was going over the bars. Luckily I did not. I looked at the front brakes and they were close to white hot. Turns out that dummy yours truly had forgot to back off the adjustment screww and when the brakes had warmed up, they were by default engaged fully. Once my heart rate came down to normal I realized this and backed off the screw almost all the way. I waited 20 minutes for them to cool down and off I went and all was good AGIAN I can now say for the first time in my life that I pulled a front wheel wheely. Check that of my dummy's to do list.

The bars and grips are magic and I love them. However, I don't suggest that any of you try this at home as it was done by a professional dummy in an uncontrolled environment

I was chuckling the whole time I was reading. Sounds like something I would do.

Glad you're fine, but would have loved to see a video to mock you more! Ha Ha Ha.

Maybe we shouldn't call it a "Stoppie" if your on an 800#lb.cruizer......Maybe it should be called a "Puckieee!" or a "Sphincter"!!!!

Not sure I follow...if there was enough braking power to pull a stoppie I question how you got to take off from a stop in the first place. Your clutch should be fried.

Wow, I didn't think the front brakes were that powerful.....You will be lucky if the rotors aren't warped...
