Check the pipes where they are close to the master cylinder push rod. When I put my forward controls on the push rod for the MC was touching the pipes and I didn't know it. It heated up the fluid so bad that the rear brake applied and I had to PULL the peddle up to get home.

Best possibility is that the heat from the pipes caused the brakes to expand and go fubar. Did any work on the brake setup lately? Change/re-adjust pipes? Any work at all on the rear end?

No work on break set up done at all a couple of months ago I did the flip and grind thing and have been on longer rides since then. In front the pipes are not touchin anything on the master.

check the fluid level in the master cylinder. If it all boiled out, then you will need to flush the system. I was told that when brake fluid boils, it crystallizes. Been there, a month later I had brake problems again because I did not flush the system from the get-go. More than likely something caused the brakes to ride. Highly doubt heat from the bipes caused the issue. Take a look at the brake linkage, see if there are any issues there. Could also be a seal on the brake piston. there are 2 seals per piston, a thin one called a dust seal, and the main fat one. I also had a dust seal split just a hair, causing the piston not to retract properly, it would get caught up between the piston and the caliper wall

Had mine lock up going to work one morning. Had been messing with the pipes the day before and they were touching the brake linkage and didn't I know it (like what happpened to Curt). Had to move the bracket forward just a bit by drilling the holes out a little more.

+1. Changed out pipes, didn't realize header pipe was touching brake linkage. went for a ride, and shortly during ride, started to "drag". Sure enough, brakes were locked up. I burned up the rear pads.

I ajusted the brake linkage bringing it foward about 3/8" further away from the exhaust pipe it wasn't touching but it was close. Hopeful not to have that problem again. Thank you all
