Finally did it...BAK installed. 4 Years, 7 Months ago
After hemming and hawing and waiting for the right time to spend a few bucks, I finally put on the Barons BAK. First impression is the BAK has delivered as promised. It reminds me of the feeling you get when you have walked around in ankle weights then take them off. The bike has a new spring in its step. Can't keep the sh**-eating grin off my face yet.

Reading various posts on this website helped push me over the edge. Thanks.

Congrats It does help free up some of those penned up ponies. Did you port your manifold too?

BAK was about $300 including tax, another $125 or so (w/ tax) to install at local stealer. I am not a great wrencher, so I paid for installation.

I didn't port manifold or put in Dyna 3000.

From what I've gathered here, I wasn't sure the extra revs were worth the add'l $300 for the Dyna...not much more juice after 4200 rpm as I recall. Also, didn't want to put the extra strain on the oil pump or install a tach now.

I'm riding an '01 Silverado and was looking to liven it up some. I am pretty happy with the results so far.

Does porting the manifold make a big difference as well? Stealer tells me an updated version of the Dyna is coming out soon and says it is the icing on the cake.

Not sure if I'll do much more for now??

Just an FYI. You could go to an ignition box for a 1700. That will bump you up to 4750. You can usually pick them up for under 100 bucks from people who have went to a dyna or other aftermarket ignition. Porting the manifold does help finish off the other mods and gets the most out of them. Did you find out from your dealer what jet settings they gave you? I ask because usually they will jet you rich. Most dealers, pipe mfgs, and air kit mfgs jet recommendations are rich. But even if you are happy with the settings you have you should still know what you have.

And tell the dealer you want the stock parts they took out back.
