I think most of us, if not all can appreciate that sound. It's like an ear orgasm!

Had to bite my lower lip yesterday, it was so warm out (40-45) that I wanted to get the bike out and go for a ride. Settled on a fan blowing on it and running it for about 20 minutes. Sounded sooo sweeeet, hope we have an early spring.

We were in the low to mid-40's today, and sunny, here in SE Mass... I rolled her out and went for a ride!

I guess I was the only one... didn't see (or hear) another bike out there!

Hey Doc, I just had a DeJa Vu' moment all over again. I grew up in lower CT right after I-95 came through in the late 50's and the road was just about empty late at night. Street racing was really getting big and I would hear the bikes hammer down thru my bedroom window.

There were a few bikes that were unmistakable in their sound and how they were ridden, And I guess that's what lit my fire to get a bike.

They would also run all-out drag cars wuth open headers, sliks etc. But thats another story

I couldn't pass up the semi cloudy sky's and temps in the low 50s on Saturday and headed out about 170 miles on the R*. The only two other bikes that I saw all day were V-Twins.
One was an H-D and I think one was and other R*.

I'm going to print this out and hang it in my garage! Then maybe people will understand why I stop in mid conversation, or roll down the car window just to hear the roar of vtwins. It just gives me chills

Fortunately, out here on the west coast, while it can hit the 20s & 30s at night, the mid day temps rarely drop below 50 degrees. So it's riding season just about year round for the hardcore. This winter has been unseasonably warm and dry. We even had a few sunny days in the 60's this past week, which only makes it all the worse when you can't ride. It's supposed to be in the mid 60's on Friday.. I've *got* to get my bike running, dammit!

I happen to live about 5 miles from a freeway that runs the length of my town, so I can hear them late at night, with the throttle pegged, as they cruise on down the highway. I can only imagine who's out riding at 3:00 AM.

Hey Coot53- Great story!

I luv the sound of a healthy V twin, But how many of you can remember the sound of a healthy 'Ol Triumph Bonneville with the 'Ol "Bates" Megaphones (Trumpets) running in the distance at night? I sure hope the V twin sound dosn't fade into obscurity like the old Triumphs vertcal twins have. How do you put pipes on an electric motor?
