Do you have the short backrest or the tall one like mine? Wife loves this one but none are adjustable as far as I know.

If you have access to welder and hacksaw you can do what I did . I took the backrest off the bike , put it in a vise and from the back at the base (under the square portion , not the round part )I cut it ALMOST all the way through . Both arms . Then put it back on the bike . For this you'll want a helper so you don't push the bike forward off the kickstand . Now push the sissy bar forward till you like where it is , better yet where your wife likes it . put a screwdriver in each seperation so it stays put . Put back in the vise and weld it . Have a bunch of wet rags handy to cool it down right away so you don't turn the chrome blue . Put some silver paint on the weld so it doesn't rust .

I have the tall Yamaha backrest. It is not adjustable and leans too far back for my wife. To compensate, I placed shims (5/16" for top mounting bolt and 5/8" for the two bottom mounting bolts) between the backrest pad and the backrest. Wifey happy which equals happy hubby!
