He spent big bucks on these birds and their upkeep. Such as lofts with automatic watering systems and such. And he got quite well known for his ability to produce constant winners with the way he would breed different birds to one another. When we moved from So.Cal. to Nor.Cal. we lived in the country and people would drop off their unwanted kitten litters on the road. So it was my job to keep the kitties away from the pigeons. I got quite good shooting cats with a .22 single shot bolt action. I also got a buck a cat for a bounty and and old black man would give me a buck for every jackrabbit I could supply him for catfish bait.
