Cody, I would call a good lawyer and ask advice.

As far as to those wishing you bad dealings on this, hope they have never had a ticket nor done anything wrong in their life. Seems like a good young guy made a mistake, comes here for advice, and gets hammered by some.
Exactly thanks dude

+1 let he who has no sin cast the first stone

I know my previous post was harsh. It wasn't meant to be an attack. It was truthful opinion. If he truly has a clean record, I hope this was a mistake and not a habit. I hope he can learn from this. The " I was just cleaning out carbon nonsense just strikes me as avoiding responsibility. You are 21 (you posted) So it's time to mature. If you can use this as a learning experience, I hope you do. That's all.
Oh I will learn from this I look at it thats money that can be going into my bike. After all Im just a college student, so that being said I dont got alot ot it lol but my record is clean, I mean I got a couple speeding tickets when I was 16 and first got a license, But that was 5 years ago

Oh heck, when I was young and dumb (ok, dumber than I am now), I got tagged for 65 in a 35, 100 in a 25 and running a boulevard stop. Went before the judge, plead guilty and it cost $45 plus court cost.

Good luck and glad you learned something.

It amazes me that a rs member ask for advice and gets BBQ'd by some people that act as if they have done no wrong. I really dont know why some would buy such a large cc bike if they didnt at some point twist the grip, its not like he went through a school zone heck we all make mistakes that dont make us a criminal. get yourself an attorney and let them do the talking its not that big a deal for them.

I agree as long as he learned from his mistake he shouldn't get burned for asking advice and I do think being respectful to the officers will help, good luck in court and you better get that lawyer

Don't count on luck. Cover your bases. Get a lawyer. In cases like this, they are the only people the judge will even listen to. It really doesn't matter what the cost is, it will be worth it. If you listen to no one, at least do this for yourself.
Get a lawyer. Tell him you messed up and have a clean record. Hopefully he can convey to the judge you get it and you can move on. Learn a lesson and if you really understand it was a mistake and you cheated death, you can live a long and happy life from here on out.

It is hard enough to survive this passion we have as bikers, to add in unnessesary risk is like kicking the reaper in the jewels. You will pay...

Good thing you didn't get busted doing that in Wisconsin.
25 mph or more over the posted limit here gets you arrested on the spot & a free ride in cuffs to the nearest county jail.
Your bike would have been towed & impounded & you'd need to prove registration & insurance as well as pay all the fees to get your bike back after you got out of jail.

As others have said, get a good attorney experienced in traffic violations (look for a DUI specialist since your violation is a criminal charge) & keep your mouth shut in court unless asked a direct question.
When answering, keep your replies as short & to the point as possible.

And get some Seafoam for your 'carbon problem', it works perfectly fine at all legal speeds (and the judge will probably know that).

Expect your insurance to be about the same for the next 5-10 years as if you were busted for drunk driving at that speed.
Felony/Criminal traffic convictions of any kind + a 21 year old operator = about the most expensive combination you can write a policy for.
Expect your credit score to take a serious hit as well.
If you walk out of court with a felony conviction you could also lose much more than just money.
You could lose your right to vote &/or legally own a firearm for the rest of your life.

Live & learn and good luck in court, you'll need it.
