best aftermarket exhaust for Roadstar 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Greetings all.I'm looking for input on exhaust choices. I like the look of dual exhaust with fishtail ends. Are there any opinions or experience with particular brands? I'm almost ready to buy,but thought I'd check with members first to help me with the decision.Would anyone have a used system for sale?
Thanks ahead of time.

Good luck finding a used set. Freedom performance seems to be pretty popular but the chrome isn't the greatest however they do sound just wicked IMHO but it feels like you lose a little bottom end torgue and that is fixed with better baffles. Bassani exhaust has a set up that I'd like to try someday when I have the money for two bikes they also are supposed to have better performance

i really like the right pipe that kent did it makes the.the pipe stays close to the bike and has up angle to help w/ scraping. however, imho the left pipe needs more work. to me, it too far away from the bike and doesn't follow the same line as the right side pipe. not sure if there's any specific reason for it.

Thanks, I'm looking for something a little more old school in appearance. I saw an old advertisement for some two into one from Roadshouse ( no lomger in business? ) They were cool, the down pipes to yhe exhaust were wrapped in a flex tube.

William:

It's a shame that RoadHouse went under. I was never keen on the flexible pipe look, though.

If I ever need another set, it'll be the Freedom Duals for sure.

Thanks for the input. I'll probably go that route. Now I just need to decide on whether or not to get straight pipes or the larger diameter cans on the back. ( with shark fins of course either way)
I notice you have a modified air box. Can you hear anymore noise with the airflow? I ask, because I tried to put a K&N filter on mine ( to get a smaller profile ) without the air box, and couldn't tolerate the noise.
