You mention you ride in a group up to 4 bikes already. Don't think it is uncool to talk about what the other guys in your group want and expect from you. Set the ground rules before you head out. Side bu side or staggered. Who is going to lead and set the pace. Who is going to ride the back. Signals for stopping the group. On and on. No detail is too minor to discuss. It really makes it better when everyone is totally on the same page.

That's a huge one. Better to make your buddies wait a few mins. then not arrive at all. Nothing ruins your's or everybody else's day more than going down. It's a serous drag for *everyone*. As for pointing out hazards, it's good to do, as long as you're comfortable enough with your riding skills that *you* won't become one.

Some other rules:
- Don't ride like an asshat!
- Respect cagers. ...Even if *they* are being asshats. Remember, if push comes to shove, you'll loose every time against a cager!
- Similarly, always be courteous when passing cagers. [Or other bikes for that matter.] Don't go screaming by unexpectedly.
- Always check your rearview mirrors *continually*! This is a huge peeve of mine and it's amazing how many bikers are guilty of it.
-If you're holding someone up, let them pass! This goes back to not riding above your skill level. Take your time, ride at a comfortable pace. But if necessary, turn on your signal to let everyone know what yore doing, pull over as far as possible, slow down and wave them by. And don't wait for a whole line to build up either.
-If you're leading a pack, let the riders behind set the pace. Again, always watch your mirrors and if the riders behind you are falling back, slow down. If they're bunching up, speed up. If your not comfortable going faster, let someone else lead.

Well said....when pointing out a road hazard use your foot and point your toe at it.

when riding in front of another bike pick a line and stick to it nothing bothers me more then a rider that can not hold a line and keeps cutting me off when we are in large groups

There is an exception to that.....on curves it should be outside inside outside and if you are behind then you should allow enough room for proper cornering PERIOD. That is why I had my wreck I was holding my OUTSIDE line and the ride behind me was to close to corner the proper way.

Oh boy i uave some learnin to do. I have never ridin in a group before. In fact im the only one of my close friends that has a bike and none of my Family has one. Yup one lonely roadie out there

I also found out that when your wife/girlfriend gives you a reach around while riding with a group of dudes, it can make them feel uncomfortable You should save that for a country road when your alone.
