You mean the grit collector. That area will ruin the w/s if you don't keep it clean. My buddies looks like poop. BB

Rifle makes a replacement windshield for the roadstar that
is a carbon copy of Yami's but it's cut to fill in the gap at the bottom
and you don't need the slider.

I've seen some old Roadies with the slider (1999-2000), maybe it's an old WS model

You know that slider is the ugliest part of my roadstar. Why didnt they come up with a better way of attaching it. The glue or whatever they used looks like a kid did it with elmers. No matter how clean and pristine you make the bike look you still have those ugly glue spots between the materials. Also yamaha scratched the heck out of my keyswitch from the factory but thats another post lol

hey LE If you ever take the wind shield off you can unbolt it and take
it off to clean. It looks a little better but it still don't look as good as the windshield.

Yep, that area of my windshield looks like crap from the stuff that gets in there and then rubs into the plastic. I'm contemplating taking the small piece out.

That's where the Silverado shield comes in handy. With the big slab of chrome across there I can't see out of the lower part anyway. So I never look down at it. Dirt in there doesn't bother me at all.
