Do you have a floorjack and a way to lift the bike off the ground enough to slide the floor jack under the rear tire?

17mm box/open end wrench & 17mm deep well 3/8 drive socket. Raise bike, put 2nd lift under rear tire to take the load off shock. Un bolt & remove

Glad for this thread. I need to remove mine. The foam rubber bushing on the shock piston is gone, and the metal washer that is on the piston makes some really annoying noises with that rubber gone and no longer holding it in its place.

One of mine's in for the recall. Should be ready next week. I need to remember to order that foam shock piston bushing when I go to pick it up. (If I don't write it to myself, I'll never remember!!! )

my shock bushing is kind of crusty too. I was thinking about using one of these as a cushion bushing.

Don't forget a to use Spring Compressor when seperating the shock and spring...

Note: I used a 2x4 under the back wheel while it was jacked up to remove the pressure from the spring to remove the bolts holding the assembly.

TIP: And make sure when you put the lift jack under the bike, you do not block the front of the spring assembly, or it won't come down off the bike.

Hmmm, I'll bet the energysuspension bushings are a.) better quality, and b.) lower priced than the Yami units!

Anyone wanna take that bet???

Whattayathink, Green, which bushing'll work on our shocks?

John,

The bike my bushing's gone on is my two-up rider, and yeh, when we bottom, it's quite a crash. The bushing would cushion that some... at least the sound of it anyway!
