Dome in headlight 1 Year, 1 Month ago  
Seeing the thread about better lenses made me wonder what that silver dish is for that's held in front of the bulb.

Any ideas?

That's a reflector to disperse the light more... IIRC

forces the light to bounce back into the rear of the headlight and then the light reflecs from the back to the front and out into the street.. can you say cruddy design.
bulbs that are used for this design should have a clear top instead of one that is painted black or silver. Good luck finding an H4 with a clear top

The direct light is very focused and need to be dispersed better. That is why.
