To sell, or not to sell 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Today, I spent the morning on my bike. I had finally shined it up. During my ride, my Gardner, who, recognized my bike, pulled me over to talk. He asked me,how much I would sell it for,if I was to sell. I gave him a slightly higher number then I thought it would sell for. Considering that it is so customized I don't think I would get the money I need for me to sell it if I did put it on the market. Just now, two hours later, he showed up,with the amount I mentioned in cash. I was stunned, but he did his best to convince me to take the money. The amount is enough to buy a newer R* or a Valk. So I am torn. I love my bike the way I,built it,over two years. However, the thought of all the bikes I could, buy with that money.

What say you, if,this happened to,you, would, you put any SERIUOS thought to it. Mine is a 2000 with 85 k miles on it. However, on the other hand there is no more,to be done to it,and building is my,passion.

Cheers

If I overpriced like you did, I'd sell it.

Well i know the day is coming that mine wl be truly ”done”” then i will wznt to build another, probly a bobber. But yhat would be 2 bikes in the garage. So i guess it would depend on how much the offer was and what would be left over after a purchase of a newer bike. I myself would like to have a FI roadie, that may happen too, i may just pull alot of parts off my bike and get a fuel injected one put all my parts on that and sell the 05 or make that one the bobber.

Sell it, you gave the price, he got the money.

That is the way grown up adults behave.

or
should have said not for sale.

Nothing wrong with reconsidering and keeping the bike. It's hard to part with something you not only enjoy riding, but improving. I'd have a tough time parting with mine after all the things I've done to improve it and make it dependable.

Sell it. Especially if it is more than you'd get otherwise. I had some one offer me a ton of money for my Roadstar, he test drove it, loved the mods I'd done to it, like the power it had... he took one look at the title and saw Yamaha... WTF try to sell me some JAP CRAP?

Yeah, he and I had words about what I think about Harley Davidson bikes... he ranted about me wanting a Harley and not just doing the pony up thing. I showed him the barn with the other bikes in it. That shut him up in a heartbeat.

Yeah. I'd have sold it, I have to many bikes available for me to ride, to worry about riding or not.

Worst part is you have to go find a new one... muahaha.

Tough spot to be in, if you truly overpriced it and the guy shows up with CASH (forget dogs, cash is man's best friend) your kind of obliged. I feel your pain more than once my mouth has issued a check my ass did not want to cover.

I've got 3 to my name. 2 are mine and my wife's
dad's bikes, so they stay. The other is my daily rider type, but it is such a damn good bike, I'd have trouble even talking selling. Guess I'm one of them sentimental collectors that don't sell anything!
