Wiring Help please 1 Year, 2 Months ago
I'm trying to get my trailer wired. I have brake lights and turns figured out but not sure how to get the running lites? I'm running LED's on the trailer.

Here is my set up

Bike-----------------Trailer
Black ground---------White
green turn-----------Green
brown turn-----------Yellow
yellow stop----------Brown
blue run I think?

Any help would be great

PM me your email. I'll send you a diagram that SMOKINJOE sent me. I used it for running, brake, and turn for my bags. It does take a powered relay, but successfully worked in a plug & play type scenario. It plugs into the wiring harness to the rear fender and can be removed to original stock if needed.

Is there a way to wire it without the relay?

You can get a 4 to 5 wire converter at an auto parts store. Your blue wire is your running lights which should be hooked to your brown on the trailer. The converter changes the yellow & green wires to act as both stop & turn lights.

Oh, sure. that's the easy way to do it. But it won't win any Rube Goldberg contests. LOL

when you say the "blue" wire, are you talking about the tiny blue light gauge wire in the headlight bucket?
Because that's the one I used to trigger my relay, it works but it just seems so light duty I don't want to melt it.
