Anyone use S100? 4 Years, 7 Months ago
Hello Brothers,
Anyone ever use the S100 engine cleaner/brightener? It says it brings out the black on engines. If so, how often do you use it? Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

I use it. I feel like it works great, but I've never used on my Roadie, but several other bikes I've owned with black motors got detailed with it. I used it on occasion, felt like for the $$, it was/is one of the easiest ways to get a dingy (gray) motor shiny and black again. BB

i,ve got a black motor also, dont use s100 but i do use the yammi detail spray, it does a real good job, i'v also found that a swifter little duster is an awsome tool for cleaning the hard to get to and tight spot like on the motor where dust & dirt want to stay. try it you will like it.

I used it on my black engine case based on a recommendation from someone here on this site. It is a very good product that has held up very well over the summer. The engine heat does NOT have any negative affect on it, such as causing it to prematurely burn off.

How to apply: Spray a mist liberatly over the entire engine making sure to concentrate on the black areas. Allow to sit/dry for a couple hours. For best results I then wipe it down with a clean dry cotton rag to get off any overspray or drips. You may want to quickly repolish your chrome again. It will leave a little bit of any oily resudue on the chrome and the shine might not be as brilliant until you repolish it.

The end result? The black will be richer and darker looking. But, it will not fix any discolorations or blemishes you may have in the black. This product is great because my black engine case always looked a little bit grey, but now it looks more black...like it should.
