Saw a Roadstar last night... 1 Year ago
Funny story actually, I was in my truck and a bike blew past me in downtown Asheville. Then shortly behind him was a chick on a sport bike. I caught back up to them at a redlight where she was revving at him and he would rev back. Light turned green... That roadie spanked that sport bike off the line thru third gear, when they had to stop for another light. Funny part is, the roadie, as far as I could tell was all stock. Factory airbox, factory exhaust may have been drilled, had a little bit of tone to it... Could have had some internals, maybe a pulley swap, but he was even shifting a little early, so I doubt he even had aftermarket ignition. I have no clue what kind of sportbike it was, I'd say maybe 750 at the biggest, but still, those bikes weigh as much as a feather and redline insanely high. Thought it was pretty funny and wanted to share it lol

I've never once heard anyone say kill the cagers. Just that they need to pay more attention. I agree, it was a stupid way to be riding on the street, it was pretty late, so there was only a few other cars besides myself, but it still doesn't make it smart.
The point of my post though was the fact that the roadie is a damn freight train with its torque, and I thought it was pretty cool to see a cruiser walk a sportbike like it did. Smart? Not by any means. Cool? Totally...

Set up properly, these tractors can really take off from the line. Have a kid in my class who said he was heading in my direction on the way home after school, asked if he could tag along till he had to turn, he rides a Yammie Fr something or other. I left him at the light, a zig here and a zig there, he caught up to me about 1.5 miles up when I was on the bridge and in cruise mode. Just had to teach him a lesson. lol

My R* keeps me well ahead of the pack of clusters of cars and motorbikes that leave the starting line at red lights. Within seconds, I can see them way behind in the side-view mirrors.

I don't do it to race. I do it to get away from all the fools in tuktuks, pedaling samlaws and zig-zagging scooters who don't look where they're going.

I ride with a couple of sportbikers but here in western north Carolina, unless were on the highway for the most part they're waiting for me they like to ride a lot of sharp switchbacks that I just couldn't keep up if I wanted to. I know they're torque monsters, just never seen one take off beside a sportbike before. It's crazy how hard they will pull when you let it loose.
And Ric, I've seen the way those people drive over there on tv, and I'm sure I've only seen the better part of it lol you need all the torque you can get to keep away from those crazies!

Hey all, I know what you mean, I had a Goldwing 1100 before I got my R*. I thought the G.W. was guick,
but first time I opened up the R*, it nearly jumped out from me! Had to learn how to ride all over again

Very odd...I also have a stock honda cbr (600cc) and it will blow the doors off of my roadie. The chick must not know how to drive a sportsbike.
