Just added the fork springs. Wow! I'm a happy guy now. The front end kinda felt a li'l sloppy, you know? I'm new to the roadies, so i don't know if this was just a matter of taste, but I'm happy with what I have now. It feels much more planted, and seems to hold a line better now.

Imma big dude and go two up often, so I went 1/4" over on the spacers (6 3/4 in). Threw away the cheesy washers they had in the kit and bought a pair that match the spacer/spring diameter better. Swapped to 10wt Belray fork oil in the process and the transformation was complete.

a while back i went with hagons progressively wound springs and they reccomended their 10wt fork oil.

night and day difference! very little dive under braking and a smoother ride.

safer under hard braking too

stuck with the standard rear shock as i only weigh 210lbs and ride solo. on max preload it works fine.

Have to agree. I can't believe what a difference the rear made!

It's hard for me to tell how much better my fronts are now that I did this same switch, because they were just shot before this. All my wobble on the highway is gone, even behind trucks (ok just a little, but before it was scary. ) Still dives just a little, but not like it used to.

Oh, and I don't have to pull up on the bars after I've come to a stop to get the forks to raise up again.

My tires are still kinda shot from the bad suspension before, pretty badly cupped, but the ride has smoothed right out, which is amazing.

I have the progressive springs with 10wt on the front and the Progressive 465 with the Progressive spring on the back and I have now fallen back in love with my bike. OEM springs and shock suck

Quick question then for anyone who has had experience with both... Is the 465 worth the money as opposed to replacing the stock spring with a progressively wound one? The price differential is substantial. I'm not against getting my hands dirty and changing the spring, but if the 465 is really worth the extra $200 - $300 over the replacement spring, I might just wait a bit longer until the slush fund gets built up again.

I've gone the "I gotta improve my suspenion route". Started out w/ the stock system. It's not very good. Added a 1k spring to the shock & progressive fork springs. It was better, but not great. (stiffer & didn't whollow in turns.) My shock went out to lunch @ 22k mi. Replaced it w/ a 465. BIG IMPROVEMENT !!!!. It made me realize the fork wasn't very good. I installed Race-Tech gold emulators & I'm very happy w/ the ride now. Pricy, yea, but I plan on keeping it for a while & IMHO, it's money well spent
