Have to echo what many said here, it's not the bike its the rider. There are a$$holes in all walks of life. I'd have to say I've met more BMW riding a$$holes than HD riders.

I admit to some jealousy. I love my Roadie and am proud to own it. Period. But thats not saying that I wouldn't want a Glide some day. I mean, look at this one:



It would take me $1000 and modding skills I just don't have to make my front end look as clean as that one. Mine's got jangly bits hanging all over the place, lol. Ya, he paid more, but so what if he's got it to spend. No hate.

Now, one thing I didn't see mentioned: Women. I've gotten more sh*t from them then guys. Sick and tired of the non-riders and passengers getting a snobby attitude and saying, "No, I'm sorry, it has to be Harley." Forget the young ones, I've heard that exact saying from everyone from my older sister (currently a passenger but looking to get her first bike) to a 70 year old lady. Nevermind the fact that I was from Cincinnati and I was talking to her next to my bike at a shop in flippin' SAN DIEGO, she had no respect for me or my ride because it wasn't an HD. I am long past caring about people like that or their stupid, ill-informed opinions, but I had to bring it up.

Again, no hate from me here. Ride what you ride (unless it's a Can-Am and your not old or disabled.)

Tell them you do HAVE a HD and ask if they want to ride it.

I was just talking to a group of Welder/Blacksmiths at a local shop... got to talking about Bikes.

Of course, one guy had a Ducati, another few had HD, couple had Honda GWs. I and two others had Roadstars and one had an VStar 1100.

Then one of the Metric owners started asking what acronyms for our bikes people had come up with... Of course HD == Hundred Dollar and a few others... but I heard one for the first time every today. A Honda GW owner said this one:

H.O.N.D.A. == Harley Owner Needs Dependable Alternative

I bust out laughing, as I had never heard that one before. Everyone else start looking at the owner... since he just traded in his Goldwing for a brand New HD Ultra Roadglide something or other... and the motor grenaded 10 miles away from the Dealership (23 miles on the bike). The rear jug popped open, split on the side and burn the hen out of his leg and embedded some hot metal in his shin and jammed up the transmission causing him to "slide" to a stop.

I apologized profusely to him... he said: Nooo, I agree! I'm getting my GW back and going to get another one.
