help needed : Road Star "Ultra" mods 12 Months ago
Good Afternoon Everyone,

Posted on another topic earlier today but here goes...

It's been quite awhile since I have posted on here but the "Outta Here" thread caught my interest.

My wife's back pain from riding was a topic of discussion at home and we looked at the Harley ultra on the showroom floor and she said she thought it might work ..... however ....

I went to the Factory ride days last weekend at Abernathy's Harley Davidson in Union City, TN and I rode both the Ultra Classic 103 Limited and the Road King 103 limited. Bikes were nice, Cruise control was fantastic, I like the gauges on the Ultra, but the ride ..... couldn't wait to get back on my Road Star!!!

I'll gladly spend a couple of grand for new seats, a trunk, stereo, and a cruise lock before shelling out $20K plus for a smaller bike .... (Yes, I'm larger than the average bear).

Having said that I am now working on my Road Star "Ultra" and am asking for your suggestions on the best seats, trunks, stereos, cruise control, etc.... options?

Have a great day,

Keith

Ultimate or ERDody (E.D.) seats all the way for comfort. Harley or Reckless fairing. If you want radio and gauges then harley is the only way to go really. If your not interested in tunes or gauges then Rev was making a few sets of brakets to mount just the HD outer. Trunk packs, there are several.... Mutazu is one of the bigger names and they have several models, or a Harley Tour Pak, which you will pay handsomely for a good complete one.
Just say what options exactly you are after and someone will point you in the right direction. got my seats and fairing this year. Harbags and duals next year with a quick release tour pak!

I went with the HD fairing and bags. I have a Matazu trunk and should have bought the Scootworks. The Matazu trunk is cheap and flimsy I wouldn't buy it again. Good luck with your project I'm sure it will turn out well no matter what brands you decide to use. The only must is a Ultrastar trunk mount!!!!!

HD Street Glide Fairing... RSTD saddlebags and mounts... HD rear passenger floorboards and mounts with Kury adjustable passenger footpegs (so she will have more than one place to put her feet for more comfort!)... Home made sissy bar to fit her where she is most comfy (not pictured)... Ultimate Seats... Thinking about getting a set of the E.D. seats, cause my Ultimate seats are just plain worn out...

I don't mean to hijack this thread but Dave....what mounts would work with Scootworks...I just visited their site and the big tourpak with armrests & backretst plus their mounts goes over $1000 before taxes/shipping etc. seems a bit pricey???? imo

Johnny the closest I have to a quick release is the 4 bolts that holds it to the Silverado back rest bracket if that will work for you let me know
