Sounds like a little elbow grease could have it back on the road... Good luck with the insurance company. One of the guys I work with trashed his vtx right after he bought it and bought it back. They did me right and gave me a good price on it over high book. They called it a custom and gave me $8600 for it in 2010 I bought it back and they gave me a check for $6800 to boot and paid a $250 towing fee. The bike went 15 foot in the air and landed upside down the tank was caved in flat(some pictures on my site). It took me a year to rebuild it to what you see now and I love it the way it is. Insurance is calling it a total loss, and in the state of CO you can't do a salvage title on anything over 6 years old, if I read the law right. The part that pisses me off the most, the towing company did more damage than the accident, sort of like a kick to the ol' tenders right there. So now I will be in the market for a new bike, much as I hate to see this one go, and yes, it will be a roadstar (you can't get rid of me that easily ).
