1. I am glad to hear you both are ok. Like everybody says maybe you can buy it back and fix it.
2. Nobody gets out of here that easy.

Glad to hear bumps and bruises were the worst of it. Sounds like a little elbow grease could have it back on the road... Good luck with the insurance company. One of the guys I work with trashed his vtx right after he bought it and bought it back. Been years since then and you would never know it looking at the bike.

Glad you and the wife are fine. Scary, I'm sure. As others have commented, it may be an opportunity to fix it up and come away even better than before.

BT, love your posts and hope to buy each other beers somewhere. But I have to challenge that comment. I just don't agree with it in that general of a statement. I'm glad I have insurance to transfer my risk to them. I'm glad I haven't used it. But I know others are grateful it was there when they needed it.

~ off my soapbox now. Carry on.

Glad your all OK. The one your looking at was totaled the first day of my new insurance (Allstate). They did me right and gave me a good price on it over high book. They called it a custom and gave me $8600 for it in 2010 I bought it back and they gave me a check for $6800 to boot and paid a $250 towing fee. The bike went 15 foot in the air and landed upside down the tank was caved in flat(some pictures on my site). It took me a year to rebuild it to what you see now and I love it the way it is. I bought an 07 2 weeks after the wreck to ride while I rebuilt it and sold the 07 just a few months ago and kept the 05.

Well fellas, it's all over but the crying. Insurance is calling it a total loss, and in the state of CO you can't do a salvage title on anything over 6 years old, if I read the law right. The part that pisses me off the most, the towing company did more damage than the accident, sort of like a kick to the ol' tenders right there. So now I will be in the market for a new bike, much as I hate to see this one go, and yes, it will be a roadstar (you can't get rid of me that easily ).

Thanks again for the well wishes and support, you guys rock.

Ride safe and Godspeed,
Laxdad.
