I find this post and the replies very interesting, especially with all the new publicity and TV shows about MC's. There are already a ton of MC's. I am pretty sure it would never work without leadership or meetings. Someone has to organize it and get it off the ground. After that you will need people to support and promote the goals of the club.
If you are simply doing it for the patches, with the lack of brotherhood that MC's are built on, I think you are asking for trouble. This is just my view point, but I don't want to ride with a patch that nobody knows and has little or no meaning. I want to ride whenever and wherever I want and not have to worry about anyone with a patch that might not subscribe to the same rules of life that I do because I have a meaningless patch on my back.
With that said, this forum is like my MC. I also have my local riding buddies.
