The only theft i have had on my business, is by a police officer.
I called 911, told them who it was, did not believe me.
After calling sheriff dept, they solved it. I got a check for item.
Officer is still working for department. Looks like she is going to be the next assistant chief.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it could have been worse permanent damage. I did talk to the security guard on parking lot patrol and he said to park it on the sidewalk next to the front door because there is always someone right there to keep an eye on it. I thought that was cool

I parked my first bike ('08 Suzuki Boulevard C50) on the sidewalk of a local grocery store, out of every ones way...came of the store and a kid, about 15 or so was sitting on my bike messing with the mirrors...his parents were standing 5 feet away talking to someone, when I grabbed him by his shirt collar and yanked him off the bike his "daddy" decided that he had something to say to me about that....wasn't a pretty sight, especially after the cops were called and "daddy" went to jail for assault (I made sure he swung first and had multiple witnesses for it) I have since mellowed out a bit (that was 4 years ago) and now I just tell them to get away from my bike...but that's only had to happen a few times over the years

It is all about respect, if I see a bike I like the looks of, I may walk up to it and look, but I'm not touching it unless I have permission from the owner

I don't take my eyes off my bike anywhere I go! Just for all the reasons givin here. You just can't have anything nice without some jerk trying to ruin it. I even got after my own nephews for playing with my lever fringe in the driveway.

What would people do if you hopped into their car and started checking things out? Keep your hands and spit off my bike! I let most people check it out if they ask me first

a girl i knew came out of a supermarket and found some guy boucing his kid on the seat of her bike. she verbally tore him off a strip, and he kept saying `it´s not important, calm down´.

she followed him back to his car, and while he was putting his kid in the car she sat on the hood and bounced up and down. he went mad `what the f... do you think you´re doing?´ to which she replied `it´s not important, calm down!´

he got the message, STFU, and drove off red faced.

I'm with you guys here I do not touch anyone elses bike let alone sit on it and it goes for vehicles too ! Had a co-worker or two sit on my bike at work or play with the throttle or switches as they admire the bike while talking to you and my expression was enough to get their *@%* off fast. No respect these days !
