I have had the board down and the pipes have never hit. They also give you quite a bit of clearance for bags, much more than the stock pipes. I have the Kuryakyn grantour bags and there is plenty of clearance.

I have been looking at the Cobra 2 into 1 because they look like they ride a little higher and wouldn't drag. I was only concerned that they would not be loud enough for me. I put my boards down all the time in corners and would not like to have the pipes hitting before the board.

Just as I expected, I'm still confused. Sounds like Performance is working on some true duels that ride higher? That would be a good option. I think I can get a set of Stainless from KENT and have them made the way I want too ($$$$)

The cobra 2 into 1 rides high enough to not scrap as well, but might not have the tone I'm looking for??

With the V&H 2 into 1, the board hits before the pipe, and I've only dragged the pipe when the wife was aboard... and, that was before I learned the pre-load was at the lightest setting on the shock spring.

Since going to max pre-load, I haven't hit the pipe, but I may not be trying hard enough!

But then again PhatRJ's pipes are tough as hell to. Tough decision.

Tried to find them, do you have a link??

Sorry Darn I meant to post the name of them!

The pipe scraping is relatively rare, but I mentioned it because it can happen. I have a feeling that with my Progressive suspension this won't be an issue anymore, because the stock shock used to sag too much.

Mine had some build quality issues but from what I read that's not the norm. From a sound perspective alone, you would not be disappointed in the Hardkrome. I don't always like how the sound comes out from the side instead of the back, although its great for letting cars on your left know that you're there. But the noise these things make is awesome. Deep, throaty, and rumbly, and they're getting better with age.

There's others here running the same pipes, I'll let them chime in too if they want.

I for the Hard Krome 2 into 1 here http://www.jcmotors.com/p-11931-hard-krome-2-into-1-sideburner-cruiser-exhaust-system-for-yamaha-xvs-16001700-roadstar-99-07.aspx#.T84PSlIVm2Y for a good price, don't know anything about the company though. I have the VH 2-1 but they are really blued up and thinking about going with the HK.

Found these: Hard Krome 08 & up

It says they come with fixed baffles, I wouldn't get anything with fixed baffles.

Have to say I couldn't pass up that deal, just placed an order and once they're on we'll see if they scrap or not. I drag my floorboards all the time, actually get disappointed when I don't so we'll see what happens.
