I used a round iron bar cut to length welded into the ends. Some folks have used lead shot.

That sounds like a good idea, and the lead shot I have a lot of, will just have to try and see if I can get the weight I want in the area available, the 06 has a plug in the end for the Grip ends which are bar weights to thread into, so I was going to try threaded rod and if that wasn't enough drilling it and filling with lead.

Crampbuster control lock works great and well padded or gelled gloves. As a diabetic, I too get that numb feeling occasionally..I also lowered my bars abit. Different position on your grip really helps. Even after all that, soemtimes I just have to put my arms to the side and shake them until the blood re-circulates into the fingers, then I am great for another hour or two.

I have the cramp buster I use for long rides, its a hassle around town though. Thats why i liked the Kury with the Throttle Boss but I keep reading they reduce vibration and I wanted to know for sure before spending the bucks.

I had the same problem. The stock bars force my wrists at an odd angle which makes my hands go numb. If I straighten out my wrists (like throwing a puch) the numbness gets better. Until I start experimenting with different bars I have gotten a throttle rocker which as helped a lot. It allows me to position my right wriste in a straigher fashion while resting it on the rocker. FYI, the Throttle Rocker was only $10 shipped on Ebay.

I filled my tee-bar up with fishing lead, a pound on each end. Put in a big shot of clear silicone, then lead mixed with the silicone, then silicone on the end to hold it all in place. Helps with the vibs, as you loose the weights that come from the factory when changing the bars. I still get sleepy hands, esp. on longer runs, but it's tolerable. BB

Oh, it hurt so good!
OK, I didn't want to post about numb hands until I had an intelligent answer, even though I had to ask my wife how to spell intelligent.
I've had a time with it myself lately.
I've had the Kury Iso grips, but recently put on a pair of Kury throttle bosses.
I've put almost 500 miles on them, and I can tell you they make a lot of difference.
I needed them because I have four broken fingers.
My thumb, index, and middle finger are all that are are working on each hand.
I was getting numb hand, or at least numb fingers on the ones that work.
The others hurt regardless.
Today I put another 100 miles on, and I easily could have done another 100.
I have the clever Lever throttle lock, so it wasn't just the right hand giving me a problem.
They help by giving the outside heel of your palm a place to brace against, instead of just using your fingers, and thumb. They were designed to do that on the throttle hand. I think the left one was meant to be cosmetic, to make both sides match, but what a difference on the left hand for me.
For just $30.00 it will make a lot of difference.
If it helped me, it should also help some of you others with numb hands.
Now, if I could just be able to get my gloves on!
