Not usually a problem with rubbish british weather, but on the odd occasions where I've been stuck in traffic with no hope of filtering past, I've noticed that the RS suffers from heat build up far, far less than do the Harleys I ride with.

Not sure how effective it would be without a cowling and it would probably suck lots of power from the charging system. What's the issue you're trying to cure?

Several companies make fans for V-Twins, but I have no idea if they work or not. You getting caught in Indy traffic?

They make V-Twin fans one place I know that has them or could lead you is Dr. Stroker he builds primarily V-Twins and getting 167 + hp you need a fan in traffic LOL

Last year did the 9-11 ride and might add a fan this year. We had alot of barely crawling and I could hear my oil as everyone else's screaming for relief. Especially the guy that bought a brand new HD and didn't break it in before a multi state ride. That motor was toast before it saw a 1000 miles. That's just crazy not to break it in.

You might want to search the web for LeNale parade fans. They are made for Harleys but I'm sure it could be modified.
My dad has one on his ultra classic trike and that thing moves tons of air, it sounds like a jet engine when
running but that just means you need louder pipes to drown it out. Just need to make sure it's the real deal, lots of
knock-offs out there and the knock-offs are built cheaper and don't last.

Haven't installed a fan but I did install a oil cooler last week on my bike. Generally the R* don't need one but found a good deal on one with a oil temp guage on top. I plan on doing a small write up about the install along with a few pics when I get a chance.

I got caught in Indy traffic this year. Thought we'd make it to the track early enough but guess not. Got caught out on 16th St. for over an hour. Bike kept quitting on me just before I got to to gate 2. Nursed it in and parked it. On ride home to Michigan discovered clutch was slipping in higher gears which it never did before. Just installed yesterday the Barnett clutch spring conversion which cured that. But, yeah a fan of some kind would have helped.
