I just wanted to send out a special thank you to The Grinder, god put him in our path on Saturday. Our Star Chapter was on a week end camping trip in Cherokee, NC. when he spotted our Star Patches and pulled us over. We all had met him last October at the Hendersonville Toy Run but had not seen him since. He decided to ride with us a little ways and while up on the Blue Ridge Parkway my bike jumped out of gear, like the transmission was shot. This was first mechanical issue I have ever had with this bike and I have 33,000 miles on it. He jumped off his bike and said something like "the pulley has come off the jack shaft". With none of us being mechanic's, we all said "OK,whatever you say". He grabbed his tool pouch and started wrenching. He didn't have the correct tools, so he called a freind and asked him to run some out to him. With-in 20 min's my bike was fixed, not jerry rigged but fixed. I offered to pay him but he would not except. Thanks again Grinder, thanks for being there, we look forward to hooking up with you again.

Hey Bill! Thanks for the accolades... But I am pretty sure that what I did for you Yesterday, any one of the guys on here would have done as well... I am very happy that I could have been there to help get you back on the road.... and the steak dinner was awesome too!. So thank you for that... Tell the group that I can't wait to see you guys on Labor day weekend and for the Smoky Mountain Meet & Greet...

Yes it was... the nut had backed all the way off the shaft, which allowed the pulley to slide off the splines... wiped out the first few threads up against the splines, but the rest of the threads were still in great shape... once one of my brothers brought me the sockets and ratchet that we needed, it was a cake walk from there...
